Where To Buy The Best Easter Eggs

Easter; a time to celebrate the excessive chocolate consumption with a guilt-free conscience! While the Easter Bunny egg hunt in your backyard may be long gone, you can still hunt around Sydney for the best edible bunnies on offer.

With quinoa and clean living high on everyone’s agenda these days (not mine, however!), what’s not to love about four days of utter indulgence combined with a long weekend? So get your baskets ready and hop along to some of these chocolate havens.

Gulyian Belgian Chocolate Café

She sells sea shells by the sea shore! I’ll bet that at one point or another when a box of Cadbury favourites just wouldn’t do, you’ve either been given or received some of these little morsels. With their signature swirling, oceanic designs filled with hazelnut praline, Guylian is that old faithful Easter treat.

Belle Fleur Fine Chocolates

Handcrafted, fresh Belgian chocolate is what you will find at Belle Fleur, and at Easter the store comes alive with colourful eggs and little chocolate bilbies jumping around. Take a nostalgic trip back to your youth and get Daddy to buy you a golden egg and, as long as you’re not named Veruca, you won’t get or be a bad egg (Invaluable knowledge from the chocolate king himself, Willy Wonka).

With a dazzling array of Easter treats in both their Rozelle & Petersham store why don’t we all just embrace it and go to town like a kid in a candy store.

Max Brenner

With 19 locations in NSW alone, the bald chocolatier is a staple for any chocolate lover’s diet and if the regular chocolate-drenched waffles won’t do for that Easter indulgence, there’s only one thing to do – the limited edition Easter menu!

It’s a little bit fancier, featuring white chocolate mousse eggs filled with mango yolks and chocolate ganache nestled in pretzel nests. It’s cute food for the dessert fanatic (and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that).

Adriano Zumbo

There’s a reason Adriano Zumbo is so popular, and its quite simple really – it’s because he’s just so damn good. This Easter sees ‘The Chocolate Pistols – Punk Bunnies’ grace his stores and, so as not to discriminate against all of the Easter creatures, there are also Zumbo fish, rabbits and chickens.

If kitsch isn’t for you I’d just stock up on Zumbo’s fresh baked daily hot cross buns, take them, toast them and slather them with lashings of butter.

Just Williams

Just Williams is dessert royalty on the Sydney scene. With over four generations of chocolatier experience under their belts, this is the place you should go to if you want to ditch the kitsch and pamper yourself with delicate and posh truffled treats. Featuring hand-painted rabbits, ribbon-wrapped Easter eggs and nostalgic Peter Rabbit tins, these are filled with all kinds of pralines, truffles, ganaches creams, buttons and barks. Just Williams provide some of the most exquisite creations, and is the perfect egg to find at the end of your hunt!
