Tuxedo: Breaking new ground

With a name like Tuxedo, what better drink to dedicate a bar to than espresso martinis?

That’s right, Sydney is getting its very own espresso martini bar. What was once the original Cadbury Chocolate Factory down at The Rocks, the location is going through a huge renovation however it is being careful to restore original and classic elements of the building.

Coffee genius, Benjamin Sweetin, who also brought to us Kansas City Shuffle, Joe Black and Two Wolves Community Cantina, is the brain-child behind this innovative movement.

With capacity for 200 people and furnished with dark oak, steel and plenty of greenery, Tuxedo will be the perfect spot to wind down after work. Not only just for cocktails, you can kick back and relax with a drink while you play a game of pool or table tennis, and down some nourishing south-western inspired foods.

There are six signature espresso martinis on offer, with the classic espresso being offered on tap, as well as a Cadbury Chocolate martini, as a homage to the original venue. It will come with melted and shaved chocolate, chocolate liqueur and a single shot of espresso. There’s also a martini infused with cold-drip filtered coffee and vodka, as well as a rum-based martini for all lovers of rum.

Once you’ve hit your caffeine limit, there is also an extensive wine list to choose from, showcasing some rare wines, as well as a variety of craft beers.

Tuxedo is due to open on August 12.
