Eveleigh Uncorked - Wine and Cheese Fair

Eveleigh Market announces first Wine and Cheese Fair

Artisan wine, cheese, bread and olive producers from across NSW and ACT will come together at the Eveleigh Market in Redfern to celebrate their regions at Eveleigh Uncorked - the first Eveleigh Wine and Cheese Fair on Sunday, 16 June 2013 from 10am to 4pm.

Home to the weekly Farmers’ and monthly Artisans’ Market, Eveleigh’s historic Blacksmith Workshop will play host to the inaugural event, which will showcase over 40 wineries and 20 cheese,  olive oil and bread producers showcasing their boutique produce and artisan fare to the Sydney community.

The day will give wine lovers the opportunity to sample and purchase directly from producers from regions such as the Hunter Valley, Mudgee and Orange in a bustling market place with live music, coffee and yummy food. There will also be specialist cheeses, marinated table olives, tapenades, artisan butter and crusty sourdough bread to taste and take home.

Eveleigh Market Manager, Ariana Aljinovic said the day will provide an excellent opportunity for independent artisan wineries and cheese makers to introduce a variety of their latest wine releases and produce to Sydneysiders.

“The focus of Eveleigh Uncorked is to feature smaller boutique wineries, whose wines people may not have tried unless they have visited the region. It will allow us to celebrate and uncork the unique taste of our state. For winery participants it will be a unique opportunity to trade at what is effectively a one-stop City Cellar Door.

“This Fair will continue Eveleigh Market’s tradition of bringing the maker to the buyer and will be a wonderful opportunity for the Sydney community to learn more about the wine and cheese making process.”
